Why Does It Seem So Easy For Some Christians To Identify Whether A Person Is Going To Heaven Or Hell?
Is it really that easy for you to tell. Do you really know how the judgment process works? To be fair I am not referring to all Christians, but some Christians seem to be very quick to tell whether a person is going to hell.
What I find even more disturbing is that some Christians tell their fellow Christians that they are going to hell if they don’t share similar beliefs.
Do you really understand God and his plans for people so well?

This is one of the reason that I am no longer in mainstream Christianity. I have never believed that I or any person can judge. I also no longer believe in eternal punishment – phew what a relief to get rid of that tenet!
I get very angry when other Christians try to claim their spirituality as the only right one and that others including those who also call themselves Christian, are to be condemned if they don’t repent and conform tho what they understand as the only true way.

How do you know? Well if you read the bible then you will know. The bible is clear about who will enter into heaven and
who will not. Sometimes it’s all inside the person, so you won’t know. However sometimes people show their insides by how they live and their lifestyles. And the Apostle Paul teaches that you will know them by their works.
I guess we can say the following verse is clear-cut:
1 Corinthians 6
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

It might be said that whether someone has repented and believes is known only to the believer and God, and there could be a lot of fakers, and conversely, a lot of people not generally accepted as Christians who actually turn out to be. Having said that, one of the gifts of the Spirit mentioned by Paul in the New Testament is the discernment of spirits, and some people might interpret that as an intuitive knowledge given by God of who is a genuine Christian, i.e. according to that belief it might be possible to tell by a sort of psychic-style power if someone really belongs to Christ. I know Christians who look at it this way and i also know that i can sometimes tell a Christian without any specific information about their life. An example: i was once out in a busy city centre walking down a long, crowded street and saw a man in the distance, and i became convinced that although i’d never seen him before, he was a Christian. A couple of minutes later, we passed each other near a Christian bookshop, and another man came out of the shop and struck up a conversation with him about something like missionary activities in which he was involved.
So, that’s evidence if you like, but i don’t know if it’s really evidence that a Christian is divinely inspired. I can’t explain it though.

We can never be absolutely certain that a person has gone to hell but we, very often, know without a shadow of doubt that certain people have gone to Heaven. These are Christians that we have known well and we knew exactly what they believed, how they praised God for their salvation, how they helped those whom God asked them to help etc.
There are many people who use the name Christian who probably are not, but it is not our place to say they will go to hell. We don’t know what will happen from this day on and we are all in God’s hands.

Me accepting Christ, asking forgiveness of sins and turning away from them, and walking in his ways does not guarantee me a spot in Heaven.
It is still up to him to decide my fate; the same as everyone else’s. He decides if what I did was his will or not; not I.
I’m with you on the fact that other Christians tell other Christians they are going to Hell. Had someone tell me that earlier because they said babies go to Hell because they can’t accept Jesus; I didn’t agree.

That does sound disturbing. People need to remember that it’s God’s job to do the judging not them. I’m Christian but I’d never say anything like that to anyone. Christ said “He who is without sin, cast the first stone” right? No one who is really trying to be like Jesus would ever just write someone off like that.

Nobody’s perfect, so everyone’s going to hell. It’s really not that hard to guess.
However, you can’t always tell who has Jesus and who doesn’t. Some people who have accepted Christ behave as if they never heard of him. I know I do, from time to time.

Religion leads to the condemnation of others. Love leads to their reunification.

It is not man’s duty to ‘judge’ if one is going or not.
He can lead others to Heaven.

It’s simple when you just quote the Bible and let the Bible speak for you:
Only God and Jesus know the HEART condition of people
First of all, God doesn’t punish people that way, it’s against his loving personality:
Jer. 7:31: “They [apostate Judeans] have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.” (If it never came into God’s heart, surely he does not have and use such a thing on a larger scale.)
Illustration: What would you think of a parent who held his child’s hand over a fire to punish the child for wrongdoing? “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) Would he do what no right-minded human parent would do? Certainly not!
Next, this is Gods plan:
(John 5:28-29) “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment”
Therefore, as you mentioned, we cannot be the judge — only God is the final judge. He reads the HEART of an individual. Under different circumstances, without the infleunces of Satan the devil today, etc, people may react very differently. ONLY GOD & JESUS KNOW THE HEART.
