Jesus Christ, the Son of God, described HELL as:
The place after death where MOST will end up (Mt. 7:13,14).
A place of outer darkness where there will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth (Mt. 24:51; 25:30).
A place to be avoided even if it means losing the physical members of your body (Mt. 18:8,9).
Prepared for the devil and his angels (Mt. 25:41 cf. Rev. 20:10).
A place where the fire is not quenched (Mk. 9:43-48).
A place of regret, torment in fire and no water (Lk. 16:19-31).

It doesn’t, but it does tell you what a pit of fire that was used in ancient times to burn dead bodies and garbage is like. The Bible however says nothing about a fiery place of torture where the souls of evil or unrepentant people will reside in for all eternity, that doctrine was made up by the Catholic Church.

Its very explicit
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) . . .For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) . . .All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She?ol, the place to which you are going.
(Psalm 146:3-4) . . .Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. 4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish.

1 John 4:8 says, “God is love.” So, he would not torment someone in a fiery place after they die. A parent would not hold a child’s hand over a fire to punish the child for wrong-doing.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 dead are conscious of nothing.
If they were conscious of a burning horrible place, they would not be dead.

Well, NorthSideMacksAir: Some ministers teach the Bible, others teach wives tales.
Your youth pastor is the latter.
Hell is much hotter than you can imagine because it BURNS UP the wicked. They will be ashes. You see: The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.
So you have two states: Eternal life, or eternal death.
For the first, it will be bliss, for the second, it will be a quick hell, as Jesus said: “with weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
There’s more on this when you break the Bible code. See http://revelado.org/thetimeoftheend.pdf

That is not the hell of the bible. Sheol or hell is nothing more than the common grave. The idea of hell being a place of torment and torture is an idea developed in Rome after the death of the apostles. The churches used this idea to scare ppl into doing what they wanted them to do.
