Scare ‘em into submission! That’s a concept that religious figures have understood all too well for a long time now. They never present any sound evidence to support the reality of eternal punishment, but nobody seems capable of completely disproving it either. Avoidance of Hell is the one of the top selling points of “faith.” Why else would people believe in so many things that violate science and reason?
Shouldn’t people who are religious follow the religion with the worst depiction of Hell? I ask this because many people use Pascal’s Wager as a reason to believe.
