if in fact he died for our sins ?
The Bible says the wages of sin is death , which is exactly what Jesus did–died.
So how can people be eternally tortured in Hell if Jesus paid the price for us ?
Is Jesus presently being eternally tortured in place of those who accepted Him as Lord?
Jesus Christ supposedly lived thousands of years ago, so none of us knew Him personally, and none know Him now. Therefore, although there are many notable stories in the Bible about His works, we may not know of Jesus’ other deeds which some may’ve chosen to edit out of the popular history.

How can Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice for sin can be negated by further “torment” in “hell” for unbelievers. If he was the “sacrifice” for the sins of all mankind, why further (much less eternal) torment? The need for additional “torment” clearly suggests that his sacrifice was not enough to get the job done.
If he really did die for our sins, then hell is unnecessary. But If hell does exist, then Jesus’ sacrifice had absolutely no meaning.

2. If this is only meant as an allegory, why do christians believe that the existence of a historical jesus is real?
Can anyone answer these questions?
