Assuming heaven & hell exist*. The good samaritain, used as an example of morality by Jesus cannot be taken to have gone to hell despite not embracing the christian or jewish religious tradition, therefore can it be appropriate for people to claim atheism, or alternative religious practices to be “hell worthy” despite the fact many of their practitioners are good people, who – like the good samaritain, live good lives. What do you think? Is “not believing” enough reason to go to hell, or is it more important for people to live good and moral lives?

Ghandi was a Hindu. Hitler was a Christian. Gandhi did not see Christ as his savior (although he admired Him), and Hitler actually accepted Christ as his Savior. According to the Bible, only those who accept Christ are saved. Gandhi is in Hell for he did not accept Christ, but Hitler is in Heaven for accepting Him. What is so difficult to understand about that? It is just that simple.

Is it really that easy for you to tell. Do you really know how the judgment process works? To be fair I am not referring to all Christians, but some Christians seem to be very quick to tell whether a person is going to hell.
What I find even more disturbing is that some Christians tell their fellow Christians that they are going to hell if they don’t share similar beliefs.
Do you really understand God and his plans for people so well?

Seems a bit odd in the reasoning that Hell would torture souls sent there by Heaven. Seems since heaven and hell are at odds, any souls rejected by heaven should be welcomed in hell. I dont get why hell would want to cause pain to its faithful fallen ones.
What do you think? Is hell a place that purifies souls of evil through torture so they might one time, be fit to enter heaven?

I was just reading an article by Peter Coleridge in which the Oxfam’s Middle East coordinator reveals his fears and hopes during five days as a hostage in Lebanon.
We all have in our life our moments of heaven and of hell: would you like to tell about an heavenly or an hellish situation you are living or lived in the past?
