Christians: How Is It Possible To Believe In Both Jesus’ Crucifixion And The Doctrine Of Hell?
Friday, February 5th, 2010The two are mutually exclusive and completely contradictory.
How can Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice for sin can be negated by further “torment” in “hell” for unbelievers. If he was the “sacrifice” for the sins of all mankind, why further (much less eternal) torment? The need for additional “torment” clearly suggests that his sacrifice was not enough to get the job done.
If he really did die for our sins, then hell is unnecessary. But If hell does exist, then Jesus’ sacrifice had absolutely no meaning.
