If The Wages Of Sin Is Eternal Punishment In Hell, Then Would Jesus Have To Be Eternally Punished?

if in fact he died for our sins ?
The Bible says the wages of sin is death , which is exactly what Jesus did–died.
So how can people be eternally tortured in Hell if Jesus paid the price for us ?
Is Jesus presently being eternally tortured in place of those who accepted Him as Lord?

You ask a logical question IF hell were a place of eternal torment. The Bible does say the wages of sin is death. We all sin so we die and there would be no hope for us if Jesus, who was perfect and sinless, hadn’t sacrificed his perfect life. That is what the rest of that scripture means, “but the gift God gives is everlasting life.” He did that by sending his Son, Christ Jesus to earth to buy back what Adam had lost, perfection and everlasting life.
Jesus, nor anyone else, is be tortured by fire forever because hell is just the grave. We all go there when we die.

    Hi,
First of all, sin is to be rebel to God, This deserves the wrath of God in death.
The Bible clearly states that Jesus died for believers only and not for those who will not believe. So he has never died on their behalf.
The eternity of the punishment is due to one thing: they will continue to hate God in Hell so add each second to their punishment.
It would be like if you are put in jail because you have spit in an image of your president and each day you are in prison, you do it again and again.
    Regards,
    Emmanuel

So which is it, according to you?
First you said the wages of sin is eternal punishment, then you said the wages of sin is death?
Soooo, tell us oh righteous one, which is it?
According to the Bible the wages of sin is death.

  4. CalleyD Says:

every sin was laid upon Him, who knew no sin, eternally. He was then separated from the love of the Father for the first time in eternity. No one else fits this, we will pay eternally if we reject Him

  5. Michael Says:

their really is no biblical repercussions for Jesus, in fact hes awarded ultimate authority over all creation.
    …what a bum deal. -.-

The wages of sin is death…not eternal punishment…we all have to die thanks to sin…we don’t all have to have eternal punishment in hell…unbelief = hell…
