“hell”???????????????????????
im not religous im an atheist. but why should anyone go to hell “for ever” if you belive in hell. you cant be punished for an UNLIMITED time for being alive for a LIMITED time on earth plan and simple.any number has a quality of zero compaired to infinity. i dont think people should burn in a lake of fire thats just sick. and if you think theres a heaven WHY should the definition of right and wrong be justified by beliving in somthings existance and not just being a good person even if you dont belive. if there is a heaven and i really dont think so then you should let 99.999999% of people people in.

Hell isn’t a torture chamber. Hell is about relationships, broken relationships. In the Bible, hell is separation or banishment from the most beautiful being in the world, God himself. It’s exclusion not only from God but also from those who have come to know and love him. Hell is a punishment for having broken God’s standards and is a natural consequence of choosing to be separate from God. Hell is a punishment, but not punishing. The punishment of hell is separation from God and the shame, anguish, and regret that go along with it. The pain may be both mental and physical, but it will be the pain and sorrow of final, eternal banishment from God and the good life for which we were created. Hell is the final sentence that says you refuse regularly to live in relationship with God, and the inevitable result of that choice is to be sent away from God for all eternity. So it is punishment. But it’s also the natural consequence of a life that has been lived in a certain direction. Hell is a physical place. The Bible says that our bodies will be raised and our souls rejoined with them at the final judgment. Hell will need to be a physical place to house those physical bodies. There are some theologians who claim that the Bible teaches annihilation. I don’t agree with them. Even after all that I’ve said, the idea of hell doesn’t make me happy. It helps me to know that God isn’t happy about hell either. Remember, he doesn’t send people there; people end up there because they’ve chosen to live separately from God their whole lives, and when they die, that decision is sealed for eternity. I believe that the imagery of flames the Bible uses to describe hell is a figure of speech. Trying to take flames of hell literally results in nonsense. For example, hell is described as a place of utter darkness. How can that be? Flames would light things up. Here’s a similar example: The Bible says that, at his return, Christ will come surrounded by flames and with a big sword coming out of his mouth. Will he be unable to speak because he’s choking on a sword? Few people consider that to be a literal sword. Instead, the sword in that passage of the Scripture is an image that stands for the word of God. The flames stand for Christ coming judgment. Another example: In Hebrews 12:29, God is called a consuming fire. Yet nobody thinks God is a cosmic Bunsen burner. Using the flame imagery is a way of saying he’s a God of judgment.

Whether you’re religious or atheist, it doesn’t change the fact there is a Most High Lord God of ALL Creation who has a set of Laws that must be obeyed. Violations of them are going to send people into an eternal lake of fire for disobedience!
That said, just because people claim a Christian, Islam, or Judaism label, doesn’t mean they are in compliance with Holy Law.
Your question is suggestive that you are in a spiritual search for TRUTH! If you are and you want more detailed ANSWERS to your questions read The Anointed, The Elect, and The Damned!

For an atheist you’ve sure got a lot of questions about heaven and hell and believing in “somethings” existence. If I didn’t believe in God I wouldn’t be concerned about the after life that Gods word tells us about. Just the same it’s good to question your beliefs because if your wrong…..it is forever.

JAKE, There is a Hell. If there is no God what are you worried about.
Goodness and belief are related for sure. That I can’t let you get away with. If you see Jesus tonight will you be able to say — in addition to ‘I don’t believe’ — that it isn’t your fault that you don’t believe. It isn’t laziness, bad moral behaviour, fighting the truth you know, just not giving too big a damn about the question of God, etc.
Your posts make me think that you know you are a candidate for Hell if anyone is.

I never believed in Hell. I believe in God. Just does not fit that someone would be tortured forever when you believe in a loving God. I do believe God will teach the evil lessons when they die. Let them relive their lives through the eyes of those they’ve hurt.

You need to earn heaven. You just do not get to go.And hell is necessary to punish all the bad people who sinned,so do not think that it is unfair.

You dont go to Hell for believing in Hell. You go to Hell for not believing Jesus died for your sins.

All God does in the end with people is give them what they most want, including freedom from Himself.

God wishes that we all will live everlasting , but if you choose not to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and repent of your sins you will not reap God’s promises.

Good for you. You’ve got common sense. It seems most religious people frown on that.

Sin has an eternal consequence for us.
And NOBODY has to be sent to hell.
We’re all sinners. Only JESUS is acceptable payment for sins. All the good deeds in the world won’t pay for even one of a person’s sins.
Either Jesus pays for a person’s sins, or that person pays for their sins in eternal torment in hell. That is the choice before everyone.
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus! It is impossible to lose or “leave” salvation.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Please pray now: “Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!” You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die.

It’s simple…
Now, for hell to be existed, there must be a god, that goes for heaven as well..
As long there is a god, then he is the one who created every thing, including you and me…
As long god created us, then we are all his to rule, and the way he rules us is by religion…
Now take this for an example :
On any country there are laws, and in certain cases, if some one didn’t follow it he goes to prison for life, or even executed, that is the entire period that atheists believe that human exist in..
But for those who always follow the laws, the governments don’t give them a luxurious life for good..
So why do they have the right to punish (in your belives) for good, while god just can’t??!!!
And for why not 99.999999% of people goes to heaven I say, Ok there is some really good guys who just don’t believe in god, no matter how much good they are to people, they are not good for them selves because they didn’t follow the right thing..
Another example:
Assume that you are on a cross road, standing there just to give people who passes you money for free, you are good for them..
But if one of the roads goes to a really deep canyon and the other goes to some other better thing, if you took the canyon road what is the use of giving people money for free…

I am repeating my answer here, the idea is either you accept a system or not, that doesn’t stop you from debate but one can not hope to latch on to this or that with out offering at least a comparable alternative.
Its always difficult to make sense of a single claim, part or even a concept when plucked out from a whole system. A simple system for example would be say a syringe, defined as “medical instrument used to inject fluids into the body or draw them from it”. Now if one start off with, I like the medicine holder but I don’t like the pointy thing than obviously this small system will become less threatening but it will no longer be useful for injecting fluids etc.
I know it is a very simple example but I hope, it helps one to start thinking systems and not, I like the heaven bit, the praying thing I can take it or leave it but the hell bit, I don’t care much about. The more complex a system, the harder it is to, pick and choose elements from it.
Just think about it

I am not going to claim to be able to answer your question. Which I didn’t see much of a question as I did more of a statement towards Christianity. I personally do not believe in hell. I do not believe in the devil, but I do believe evil exists. I believe giving an identity to the evil is only giving it power so I try not to think or speak of it. Anyway. You’re a self proclaimed Atheist right? Why worry about what others believe. Because everyone has a right to believe what they want to believe, and in the end we are all right. If we choose what are heart tells us to do then we will be where we should be.
Now the Christian bible doesn’t say that. I know that. I have some views on that as well. It is easy to control people when they are afraid.
As for good people going to hell, according to the King James version of the bible, it doesn’t matter how good you are if you have not been washed in the blood( saved.) Your going to hell.
Thanks!
